Based in Idaho, Hoku Materials will produce solar grade polysilicon to six-nines (6N) and above standard for manufacturers of photovoltaic (PV) products. Polysilicon is the primary raw material used to manufacture photovoltaic cells and modules. Hoku Materials has signed seven polysilicon sales agreements with leading PV manufacturers in China, and expects to commence regular commercial production in calendar year 2012.
